Thermostats
A car thermostat is a component of the engine cooling system whose main task is to regulate the temperature of the coolant. It opens and closes depending on the temperature to maintain the optimum operating temperature of the engine (usually around 85–105°C).Distinguishing features of SRLine thermostats:
- Accurate opening temperature, in accordance with the specification (e.g. 87°C ±1°C).
- Fast response time to temperature changes.
- High-quality metal alloys, temperature and pressure resistant seals.
- Compatibility with ECU (for electronic versions).
- Reliability proven in cyclic tests.
They are subject to rigorous quality control, during which tests are performed to verify:
- Functional in a temperature chamber.
- Temperature cycles (life cycle test).
- Flow and hydraulic resistance.
- Temperature accuracy (opening calibration).
- Electrical (for electronic thermostats).
- Vibration and mechanical (NVH test).
- Test in an environmental chamber (e.g. resistance to climate changes).
